Surprise! I’m moving to L.A.

March 29th, 2007

On Monday I accepted a ‘Tech Lead’ position at HUGE, Inc. I’m very excited to be helping them expand and solidify their presence in California. The position is an incredible opportunity for me. I’ll be helping them build their team, doing a lot of actual UI work, refining their development process, meeting with big-name clients, scouting for a new office… the list goes on, and the position is really about growing where HUGE needs the most from me.

I’ve been in NYC for 5 years (and hanging in the immediate vicinity for longer than that), and I’m suddenly really excited about a change of pace, climate, and scenery. On the other hand, I’m leaving some folks behind that are really important to me. Leaving OnForce was also a really tough decision; I couldn’t ask for a better boss than Gabe Miano or a better bunch of guys to work with until 5 a.m. on launch nights. In the end I’ve decided to ’seize the moment’ and do something crazy like moving to CA while I’m still young and flexible.

There’s a going away party at Union Pool:

By the way, I love Socializr. I love the way they pull data in from all the other social networks. It’s what I’ve always wanted.
