Zawodny on Moore’s Law, MySQL, and performance planning

I thought Jeremy Zawodny’s article criticizing the notion that hardware improvements can save one from having to worry about scaling was a nice little affirmation for me that I still need to be looking at things like CouchDB, sharding, and alternatives to MySQL that will perform well in many-core hardware architectures.
