Yahoo! Mail has finally pushed me into the arms of GMail
I’ve mentioned it ages ago on this blog, sent detailed complaints to Yahoo, and in general tolerated an elevated blood pressure in order to use Yahoo! Mail for the past couple years.
Search doesn’t work. Emails I know are there don’t come up in results. In one of the worst examples imaginable, I searched today for ‘brigitte’. Brigitte is a friend of mine whom I’ve known since back when. There must be hundreds of emails between us in my Yahoo! Mail folders. She doesn’t use a wonky alias. Her emails are signed with her real name and her name is part of her email address. The failed search is embarrassing. If it was a one-time deal or even a bug that lasted a couple weeks, that would be one thing.
I officially declare Yahoo Mail “dead to me”. I was even paying for the no-ad version for no good reason. Bye-bye!

I hear you. I’ve tried them all and nothing (currently) beats Google Mail (via Google Apps) for me. I like using my own domain, being able to share a calendar with my wife, and having web + IMAP (wife likes outlook) access. Actually, I was sold on just the spam filtering alone. The rest was a bonus.
