The Command
I’ve been thinking about turning this into a stored script that takes the revision number as an argument. For now, my motivation leaves it like this:

I trudged through the waste-deep muck of the Vim options documentation and found the solution

Today I got fed up with what I perceived to be an overall lack of features in nvi compared to what I know Vim can do.

I highly suggest that emacs users just ignore this feature — it’s fast and efficient and you may become confused.
